Conversation with Papa

Another snow day!

School was canceled again today which meant I was forced AGAIN to stay home. Instead of staying warm and cozy inside like yesterday, we ventured out and over to Grandma and Grandpa Stover's. Zander got bundled up and took his first ride on a quad. He seemed to really like it and even cried when I took him off to go back inside. Four months and already a quading maniac.

A Snow Day with Zander

School is closed which means I am forced to stay home with Zander.....

safe to say we both had a VERY fun day. Hoping for some more snow tonight.

First Snow Experience

Zander enjoyed watching the snow fall from inside our warm home and also enjoyed a quick outing in it with Daddy and Willy. I'm sure next years snow fall will prove to be even more fun.

Officailly mobile!

Zander has been rolling over onto his side and from his tummy to his back for several weeks now, but I recently was able to get it on video and am excited to share it with all of you. Enjoy watching my amazing son and his already amazing athletic ability.

First Taste of Green Beans!

We were very excited to find out at Zander's 4 month check up that we could begin to introduce food into his diet! We decided that green beans would be his first, so we bought some organic beans, steamed and blended them and served them to our little man. He wasn't thrilled nor was he appalled by his first encounter with solids. He seemed interested and tolerated us feeding spoonfuls of the green substance into his mouth. Brandon was even successful when feeding them to him again for lunch the next day. The following evening however, we were not very successful. We tried rice cereal this time and it was very clear that he did not like it. We tried it again the next night as well and he still did not like it. Tonight our plan is to try both one last time before moving onto the next tasty treat.

Our Baby is 4 Months!

Four months is definently the best yet. Zander is so much fun, we just can't get enough of him. At four months Zander is growing bigger and stronger everyday. He is rolling onto his side, holding things with both hands, smiling ALL the time, laughing, enjoying tummy time (especially naked tummy time before he gets into his jammies), reading books and playing with the toys on his jumper. As you can see he is spending a good anount of his day playing. His naps, eating and playing are becoming more consistent and predictable. He's also obsessed with putting things in his mouth and watching the TV (which I hate). It's wierd, I can't remember my life before him. I try to remember what I used to look forward to (besides wine) or what I spent my time doing (besides napping) and I can't. Zander is the best and I feel very lucky to be is Mom.

100,000 dollars richer!!

So you may or may not know but I am now way famous.... okay maybe not so much me but the amazing school I work at is and the amazing principal I work for is too! My school was chosen by Ellen to receive $100,000 dollars! You can see clips of shots taken of my school (with me in the background after the boy retrieves his backpack from him locker), our school skyping in with Ellen (with me jumping and waving in the left front corner) while talking with my principal Kristen on her show on the Franklin Pierce and Ellen website. It is all so amazing, and the best part, besides the possibility this money has for my school, is the way this affirmation has had on our students. they truly feel special and loved. Happy New Year!

We were lucky enough to receive a coveted invite from the Hill's to join them in celebrating the New Year. There was lots of yummy food, laughter and babies! Zander took a short nap and awoke in time for the count down, this year I was lucky enough to kiss two handsome boys at midnight....

We recovered from our wild night of partying by watching (sadly) the last Seahawk game of the season.

and...... watching Zander roll from his back to his side!! He has done this once before several weeks ago and has not attempted it since so this was very exciting! He currently has a cold but no stuffy/runny nose can slow him down. 

It's hard to believe that another year has gone by. So much has happened in 2011, it seems surreal to think that last year at this time we had no idea of the life changing surprise coming our way. I feel very blessed to begin a new year with such a wonderful family and amazing friends. I can't wait to see what 2012 may bring, it's difficult to imagine it getting any better than 2011. Thank you to all of you who made it a spectacular year!
