Baby Stover is 9 weeks!

Again, this is unfortunately NOT a picture of our little one but is what he/she looks like. This week Baby Stover is the size of a grape! Weighing a fraction of an ounce and measuring an inch long. This week all essential body parts are accounted for and our baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers and is even growing tiny teeth. Although his/her external sex organs are present, we won't be able to tell whether it is a little boy or girl for a month or so.

Baby Stover at 8 weeks

This is NOT an actual picture of Baby Stover but it is what he/she looks like. Our little "pinto bean" has arms with elbows and tiny fingers, feet (no toes yet but will in the next few days), a nose, eyes with eyelids and is swimming and moving gracefully. Although I cannot feel Baby Stover yet I do feel the pain of his growing home.

Home Sick

Surprisingly, I am not home sick due to pregnancy-inflicted reasons. I have a cold. My nose is runny/stuffy, achy all over (my eyebrows even hurt) and I am easily light headed and dizzy. Being blessed with these symptoms and my husband’s stern suggestion I decided to call in sick. This was probably a good idea because yesterday at work I swear my students sensed my illness and completely took advantage. Although Korrina (one of my favorite students) told me very seriously that a good mommy doesn’t let her baby get sick and if I'm sick the baby is sick. Great, already I am being labeled by an 8-year-old critic as a bad mom. Anyways... seeing how this may be one of my last sick days that I am able to take for myself I am taking advantage. Don't worry I will be back at work tomorrow.

The Beginning

Well eight tests don't lie....I'm pregnant! Our first doctor’s appointment is February 7th and we will hopefully know more then. Through random pregnancy websites and self-diagnosis, I am assuming that I am about 8 weeks. So far, I feel pretty good. No morning sickness, no more tired than usual and as long as I am free to pee and snack as needed, I am a very happy mommy to be. Okay, sure, Brandon will tell you differently but at this moment, all is good!
